Clarification

I promise I won’t email again, three in a day is testing your patience. But I’ve had quite a few emails, messages, posts on FB and now a comment from Beth Parker = all saying the same sort of thing – they can’t get there as it’s too far away.

The event is Virtual, like all events these days. I thought that would be clear enough but clearly not clear for some. So if you register online, you will get instructions as to how to view it online.

Here is the link again. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lsbu-sustainability-climate-action-event-series-part-two-tickets-113894178554

The event begins at 9.00 am on 4th November. My keynote speech commences at 9.30 am on the same day. View on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. I will be in my office chatting to my desktop and feeling rather odd.

Sorry if you have been confused. And I promise, if I have to email you again today I will walk up Croagh Patrick on my arthritic knees in penance.

And many thanks to those of you who have already let me know that you’ve registered!

  1. Hi

It was clear, at least I think so. You have to be pretty dumb to think you would send invite to an event that you physically had to travel to and attend. Especially when you consider we all enter purgatory (or bliss depending on your point of view or situation) for the second time on Thursday…

    I do wonder sometimes….

    hey ho

(looking forward to seeing you up in York next year!!)

  2. Who’d be a producer/promoter? Oy… more importantly, I imagine you might be a bit nervous about it – so am wishing you even more luck, strength and quick wittedness than you have already x

  3. Hi Dillie. I’ve registered and I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing you. For anyone who, like me, is slightly perplexed by the job title and company boxes on the registration form and finds they cannot proceed without filling them in, I put “retired” and “not applicable”, which seemed to satisfy the requirements. I was tempted to reply more creatively but feared I might be banned altogether.

  4. I’m afraid you won’t be able to climb Croagh Patrick in any manner at the moment of course, because we’re in Level 5 and must exercise within 5km of our homes. Unless you have a set of golf clubs with you.

  5. I hope there will be a recording of it. The sun won’t have risen here in California at 9.30 am on Wednesday and if by any extraordinary reason I am still up watching the insanity that is happening in this country, I may not be in a responsible or respectable state (both conditions, of course, vital for watching you speak). Have fun with it!

    • Thanks, Margaret. There will be a recording. I personally would prefer to be in front of the telly all night with a bottle of gin to hand in case I need to get blotto and drink myself to death once and for all. But I doubt there is anyone in the UK more obsessed than I am with the US election. As obsessed, maybe, but not more. I can’t even bring myself to write to my American friends to say good luck, I feel sick with fright about it all.

  8. Will this series of talks be available later (online)? I live in Western Canada and would adore to listen to these speeches, but not in the middle of the night!

  9. I had some very nice comments and reactions back – so I think it did go ok. They’re going to send a link to it soon, I think, so I will post it when I get it.
